Upcoming Andor series could feature ship very familiar to LEGO Star Wars fans

It looks as if the upcoming Andor series on Disney+ could feature at least one ship that’s very familiar to LEGO Star Wars fans. (Spoilers)

With Rogue One: A Star Wars Story recently hitting its five-year anniversary, fans of Diego Luna’s Rebel hero, Cassian Andor, will get to see more of their favourite character in 2022 in a new Disney+ series. The live-action show is currently filming in Essex, England and spy images have recently appeared online showing some of the sets being built.

Some sneaky fans have managed to take a few aerial shots of the series ramping up for production, including first looks at what appears to be a returning classic trilogy ship. However, all may not seem to be as it first appears. Although the Andor series takes place before the events of Rogue One, the ship in question actually looks like it’s from much later in the Star Wars timeline.

Website We Got This Covered has reported on the Andor set spy images and mentions that a disassembled Y-wing engine can be seen, which would make sense for the time period. They go on to say that the Y-wing shown in the pictures is actually a Resistance-era model, as seen in The Rise of Skywalker many decades later. LEGO Star Wars fans last saw this version of the ship in 2019 with the release of 75263 Resistance Y-wing Microfighter, so a new set would be a welcome addition to any collection.

Considering the final fate of Cassian Andor in Rogue One, we’d be surprised to see the series jump so far forward in time, but we’ll just have to wait for all to be revealed when the show debuts on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
