Andor Season 2 TIE Fighter is begging for LEGO Star Wars set

The new Andor Season 2 trailer has an oddly familiar TIE Fighter begging for a set, and the LEGO Star Wars community are already on the case.

The second season of Andor is due to start streaming from April 22 with a new trailer out now. One frequently-featured vehicle has taken the Star Wars community by storm though. If it wasn’t already clear from earlier footage, this seems almost certain to be a new take on the TIE Avenger from Star Wars Legends, now brought into the new Star Wars canon with an updated, but familiar design.

We speculated this in November 2024 based on the now-deleted footage, but Star Wars fans across the internet agreed after the Season 2 trailer that this is the TIE Avenger now in canon. While it has yet to be confirmed, the design perfectly matches the front-to-back of the TIE Avenger.

Notably, this comparison is especially evident when you look at the custom models of the TIE Avenger made by members of the online LEGO community, all based on the previously non-canon spacecraft.

The main difference between the ship seen in the trailer and the one from Star Wars Legends is the pointed features in the middle of the four wings. This may simply be to further differentiate it from the TIE Interceptor, as much as the cockpit is suitably unique. The four circular elements are enough to identify the Andor Season 2 ship as a TIE Avenger though.

This TIE Fighter’s specification is currently unconfirmed but at this point, it would be surprising to see the ship be named as anything but the TIE Avenger. Whatever it ends up being confirmed as, it’s a clear contender for a future LEGO Star Wars set. The only Andor Season 2 sets currently rumoured include a U-Wing and K-2SO. Take these rumours with caution until an announcement is made as we await any official sign of Andor Season 2 LEGO Star Wars sets.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
