Any LEGO set can be a Millennium Falcon if you try hard enough

31170 Pink Flamingo is the latest model to prove that you can turn any LEGO set into a Millennium Falcon if you just try hard enough.

There’s a long-running tradition in the LEGO community to transform unrelated LEGO sets into Star Wars ships, and in recent years that trend has gravitated specifically towards the Millennium Falcon. One of the most memorable examples is Luke_Bricks82’s alternate build of 31140 Magical Unicorn, which until now was also one of the most colourful Falcons out there (dubbed a ‘Rainbow Falcon’).

But here comes redditor Minute_Food_2881 with an alternate build of the newly-released 31170 Pink Flamingo, and as you can probably guess from the set name, this Millennium Falcon is an even more outlandish take on Han Solo’s freighter. But it’s more proof if you need it that pretty much every LEGO set can become a Millennium Falcon with enough perseverance.

Hop over to Rebrickable and the evidence is endless. From mid-range Creator 3-in-1 sets like 31136 Exotic Parrot and 31157 Exotic Peacock up to larger Star Wars sets like 75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle and even Technic’s 42128 Heavy Duty Tow Truck, and then all the way back down to tiny polybags like 30285 Tiger, no LEGO model is safe from the inevitable fate of being repurposed into a Millennium Falcon.

Luke_Bricks82 has also conjured up a second Rainbow Falcon, instead dubbed the Millennium Dragon, using 2024’s 40611 Year of the Dragon gift-with-purchase. Just search for ‘Millennium Falcon’ under the MOCs category and you’ll be greeted with a limitless supply of YT-1300 freighters to build for yourself. Good news if your LEGO budget can’t quite stretch to 75192 Millennium Falcon

31170 Pink Flamingo is available now for only £19.99 / $24.99 / €24.99.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
