The best and worst of the new LEGO August 2025 minifigures

A huge variety of LEGO minifigures are launching across dozens of themes next month, and here are the best and worst of the new minifigures.

August 2025 isn’t just going to be a huge month for new LEGO sets, but there are many minifigures to pick up in those models. Some even have brand new elements to uncover the potential of. Click here to see what sets are launching next month.

Whether you’re more excited for the minifigures and pieces across the new LEGO One Piece sets or are eager to see what new minifigures await in LEGO Star Wars, here are the highs and lows of the August 2025 LEGO minifigures.

Mihawk

75640 mihawk lego one piece

Mihawk of 75640 The Baratie Floating Restaurant is one of the best LEGO minifigures releasing next month, mostly due to his new and exclusive giant sword element that can attach to his back. The character’s shirtless outfit has been captured excellently with the addition of leg printing and the gold embellishments.

Thanks to how closely the live-action adaptation pays tribute to the original character designs, this minifigure can easily pass as an anime minifigure as well.

Frankenstein’s monster

31167 haunted house frankensteins monster lego creator

The full minifigure selection in 31167 Haunted House looks fantastic, featuring many monstrous minifigures with elements that you might have thought were retired. That includes Frankenstein’s Monster, which is arguably the best in the set.

Only four minifigures have used that enlarged head element, last seen in Monster Fighters in 2012. Now, the piece is back alongside many other spooky elements just in time for Halloween.

Lama Su

LEGO Star Wars lama su 75433

After waiting years for a Kaminoan minifigure, two have come along in quick succession, now including Lama Su in 75433 Jango Fett’s Starship.

Lama Su makes use of another new head element to feature the accurate frill, and it will go perfectly alongside Taun We in 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter. Whether you picked up the massive 75409 Jango Fett’s Starship or not, this minifigure will be the perfect excuse to grab 75433 Jango Fett’s Starship next month.

Arcade machine resident

LEGO 40805 Arcade Machine 4

The model in 40805 Arcade Machine looks to be rife with retro gaming references, similar to the interior of 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade, but that unfortunately doesn’t extend to the set’s minifigure.

The resident of 40805 Arcade Machine would have been an opportunity for a retro design similar to those in the current era of LEGO DREAMZzz, and featuring a standard minifigure instead is a missed opportunity in the model. Even the minifigure in 10323 PAC-MAN Arcade had a fun gaming-inspired outfit.

Mecha Team Leader

77078 minifigure

Mecha Team Leader in the new 77078 Mecha Team Leader recreates the LEGO Style from Fortnite almost perfectly, missing only the side leg printing from the in-game outfit.

You’re probably not going to buy the £209.99 / $249.99 / €229.99 77078 Mecha Team Leader for just one LEGO Fortnite minifigure, but when it comes complete with a sign to recreate an in-game emote from the character’s live event, it’s a decent bonus.

Buggy

Buggy is the second LEGO One Piece minifigure worth highlighting in this list, and not just for the base minifigure itself.

Buggy’s specialised hat element recreates the character’s headwear nicely, but you can take the head off of the base minifigure and place it onto a much smaller body, referencing Buggy’s tiny form from the Netflix series. It’s a good use of a few pieces to expand on a minifigure, which isn’t in many of the other August sets.

Norman Osborn

76324 norman osborn

After waiting years for a new Norman Osborn minifigure, the depiction in 76324 Spider-Man vs. Oscorp reuses Arthur Weasley’s head from 76437 The Burrow Collectors’ Edition.

It’s a decent representation of the character, but something new would have been preferable when the set is £119.99 / $139.99 / €129.99 for just 808 elements. It’s not the only minifigure in 76324 Spider-Man vs. Oscorp to reuse existing parts, but that doesn’t make it any less disappointing.

Asajj Ventress

LEGO Star Wars 75432 V 19 Torrent review 24 1024x683

LEGO Star Wars’ August 2026 sets have some great minifigures despite high prices, though it’s the new Asajj Ventress minifigure from 75432 V-19 Torrent Starfighter that earns a spot on this list.

It’s one of the few minifigures of the character, and it’s the latest to be based on her iconic outfit from The Clone Wars movie. This is now without the enlarged eyes of the original The Clone Wars minifigures, and can be yours as part of 75432 V-19 Torrent Starfighter for £59.99 / $64.99 / €64.99 with another exclusive The Clone Wars minifigure.

Quicksilver

76325 quicksilver

There are two minifigures in 76325 Avengers: Age of Ultron Quinjet that take up spots in this list, and the new Quicksilver minifigure doesn’t quite live up to the original.

Thanks to a repeated face used for another disappointing Marvel minifigure from earlier this year, Quicksilver’s long-awaited second LEGO depiction isn’t what some may have expected, but it will still fill the gap in your collection.

Ultron

lego marvel 76325 ultron

Ultron from 76325 Avengers: Age of Ultron Quinjet is an overall upgrade to his original Marvel Cinematic Universe minifigure. The original Age of Ultron minifigure is based on concept art for the film, and the final movie’s villain design is far different, meaning that the minifigure was never wholly accurate.

Thankfully, 76325 Avengers: Age of Ultron Quinjet revisits the film years later, providing the LEGO designers with the opportunity to rectify this at long last. The new minifigure looks much closer to the film, increasing the appeal of the new Marvel model.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

I would have preferred a Normal Osborn based on Willem Defoe from 2002, but we can’t have everything we want. Getting just one Raimi Spider-man set is already blowing my mind.
