LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 is record-breaking

The LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 is more popular than the first, finally surpassing its staggering number of submissions.

The latest round of the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program is now inviting the community to react and vote on nearly 400 submissions submitted by fans hopeful that they’ll become a future set when crowdfunding starts. Only five can be picked, but that’s not the subject of this report. The number of submissions in this round alone marks a major moment for the BrickLink Designer Program overall.

With 376 submitted models approved for the crowd vote, Series 7 is the biggest and most popular series of the program since the first, just barely beating its 373 submissions. You might expect the program to get more popular as it goes on, but in reality, there has been a huge drop in submitted models since Series 1.

Series 2 saw the total nearly halved to 190 potential models, which decreased again to 185 for Series 3. This then leapt up twice for Series 4 and 5 up to 305 builds before another drop for Series 6. One last major leap and that brings us to 376 builds in Series 7 – a record-breaking total for the BrickLink Designer Program.

It’s clear to see that the BrickLink Designer Program is more popular than it has ever been, explaining why a pair of models in Series 4 completely sold out in under 10 minutes. Only five models will be selected for Series 7 though, inevitably leading to 371 rejected builds this round.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

I really like the mods that you guys have been out. Me and my son love the casle sets. Keep up the great work. My first Lego was the small ghost castle set. Early ’90s I’m 39 and my son just turned 17 and we both play with Legos build and everything again thank you guys for all the bills you’ve made

The sets didn’t “completely sell out” in ten minutes, they were FUNDED in ten minutes. it did in fact take over two hours – close to three – before the two castle themed sets sold out.
