The series 7 LEGO BrickLink Designer Program sets were at Fan Media Days, midway through their transformation, and changes can be spotted.
The LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 finalists are currently having their fan designs and graphics adapted for official release. Despite not yet being finalised, these midpoint designs were showcased to Brick Fanatics and other LEGO fan media at the 2025 LEGO Fan Media Days, which you can get caught up on by clicking here.
While their transformation is not yet complete, we've been able to spot some significant changes in three of the five finalists that are worth noting, but keep in mind that more could change before their official designs are finalised. This might even include the removal of some of these early changes. Still, it will be interesting to see how the sets transform from fan design to this midpoint and then to their final appearance early next year.
We spotted changes in Shram's Alchemist’s Shop, Brickproject's Sushi Restaurant and in BrickPerfection's Privateer Frigate Fortuna. The latter has the least noticeable change, but one that is a welcome sight. The minifigures aboard the ship no longer have Castle-inspired outfits, but are using the torsos found in
The Alchemist's Shop has some major amendments, including changing the singular sign element next to the door for a brick-built counterpart. The door on the ground floor has been changed and no longer resembles that of 21325 Medieval Blacksmith, now using the new medieval door element seen in
For the Sushi Restaurant, the only visible change is in the graphics. While some of the other sets on show from Series 7 did not feature additional graphics, the Sushi Restaurant has some that are familiar and others that have changed. The sign above the restaurant that once read sushi-ya in Japanese has now been changed to sushidokoro by changing the last kanji, both of which translate to sushi restaurant.
The yellow sign below this has also been updated, now featuring a graphic in the middle of two sets of kanji rather than five kanji on their own. The tram's signage has similarly been amended, removing the kanji entirely with just '05' in the red circle instead of 'M23'. For additional context, the M23 stop on the Osaka Metro is for Tennoji, whereas 05 is the stop for Arakawa-nanachome on the Tokyo Sakura Tram. The reason for this change is unknown, and there's still room for kanji on the sticker.
The build itself has seemingly not been updated so far, though it's entirely possible for this to change before the design is finalised ahead of crowdfunding for the seventh series early next year. That goes for the other models showcased at Fan Media Days, too. These were only a look at the builds as they stand right now, not yet transformed completely.
Stay tuned for more updates related to Series 7, but in the meantime, crowdfunding for Series 6's five sets starts on October 6 at 8:00 am PT.
