The Chinese Traditional Festivals family is back in the 2023 LEGO sets

There are a few familiar faces in the 2023 LEGO Lunar New Year models as the Chinese Traditional Festivals family is back for another year. 

Dating as far back as 2019, a family of minifigures has been included in the LEGO Chinese Traditional Festivals sets every year, and that tradition continues in 2023 with 80111 Lunar New Year Parade. In the 2023 model, a daughter, mother and father are included, with seasonal outfits including a fun pair of glasses.

The family consists of a father with glasses and a mother and daughter and son with black hair. Here’s the journey they’ve been on so far in their run up to their new minifigures in 80111 Lunar New Year Parade. That new model launches on December 25, 2022. 

4 – 80101 Chinese New Year’s Eve Dinner

The family first appeared alongside their grandparents in 2019’s 80101 Chinese New Year’s Eve Dinner, though this was the last generation of Lunar New Year models to have a limited release so not everyone had the chance to experience the start of the family’s journey.

Strangely, the son is absent from 80105 Chinese New Year Temple Fair, though the other three members of the family are busy experiencing the fair’s festivities while wrapped in winter gear.

The son returned in time the 2021 family outing thankfully as the entire family attended the park in 80107 Spring Lantern Festival. In fact, this outing would even be referenced in their next LEGO set appearance.

80108 Lunar New Year Traditions is notably different from the rest of the LEGO Chinese Traditional Festivals models, but it includes a segment of the family’s home with a photo of their visit to the Spring Lantern Festival on the wall as well as minifigures for the father, mother and daughter, the redesigned grandparents and the son too.
