Christmas TV LEGO opportunity – apply today!

UPDATE 8th Oct: I’ve been contacted by the producer to say thanks for the entries and that they don’t require any further applicants now. Watch this space for any future updates 🙂

Calling all LEGO fanatics. Are you a massive LEGO fan? Are you a super festive Christmassy person? Could you combine the two to make a wonderful winter display and if so how do you feel about being on TV?

I’ve been contacted by a TV producer looking for someone at rather short notice (due to someone else dropping out). The filming would take place in Devon on Monday (12th October) at around 3pm. They’d even pay to get you there and back.

See the info below for more details:

I work for a television production company called Raise the Roof Productions. We’re currently making a new Christmas craft programme for Channel 4 with Kirstie Allsopp. As part of the programme, Kirstie will be hosting a Christmas tableau competition for crafters and designers to take part. We’re looking for people to create a scene that captures the feeling and joy of the festive period (nativity scene, Santa going down the chimney, presents under the tree or whatever the festive season means to you), made from whatever material they specialise in.
We would love to have an entrant from the UK LEGO community – would you be able to circulate to your members to see if anyone would be interested in the filming? The designs LEGO fans come up with are amazing! We’d love to see what they could do around the theme of Christmas.

Pretty exciting really, but they’re hoping to find someone today if it’s possible. Please get in touch with me on [email protected] ASAP so I can put you in touch with the producer.

I hope someone out there can do it, because it sounds like an amazing opportunity to show off the talented builders from the UK LEGO community.

Hello, I'm Séb, your friendly neighbourhood AFOL.
As a child, Lego was always my favourite toy and now as an adult it appears nothing has changed. I emerged from my dark ages in 2011 after rediscovering my old sets in my parents' attic and haven't looked back since.
I'm a big fan of the licensed themes particularly DC/Marvel Superheroes & Lord Of The Rings, though Creator Expert provides the more challenging & technical build I'm rather fond of.
