There could be hope yet for adult LEGO Wicked fans
Older LEGO fans hoping for LEGO Wicked sets without minidolls could still hold out hope yet, thanks to the latest rumours circulating online.
Adult fans of LEGO hoping for some display-focused LEGO Wicked sets might have been disappointed to learn that the sets will feature minidolls, suggesting the rumoured four LEGO sets will be closer to LEGO Disney Princess sets like 43244 Elsa’s Ice Palace than a display model like 43222 Disney Castle, for example.
However, the latest rumours, reported by Polish LEGO fan site FanKlockow via Brick_Clicker, suggest that there may be at least one set geared towards older builders. Specifically, 75682 Buildable Elphaba and Galinda could well be two models of the iconic characters, which might be more to some older builders’ tastes than minidolls.
Of course, you shouldn’t get your hopes up yet. The rumoured set is expected to be made up of 558 pieces, meaning there are less than 300 pieces per figure. That’s far less than are used for detailed buildable figures like LEGO Harry Potter 76393 Harry Potter & Hermione Granger or LEGO Disney 43179 Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse Buildable Characters, meaning we shouldn’t expect anything along those lines.
Even far more simple builds like LEGO Marvel 76297 Dancing Groot are still made up of 459 pieces. Granted, some of that goes towards the pot he stands in, so this might give us a better indication of the kind of buildable figure we might expect from LEGO Wicked.
Of course, all of this is pure speculation for now. We won’t know for sure what 75682 Buildable Elphaba and Galinda looks like or indeed if it’s definitely on the way until we get an official reveal from the LEGO Group.
