Custom LEGO Star Wars Rancor avoids breaking the bank

You don’t need to spend over £100 to pick up a LEGO Star Wars Rancor figure for palace models with a new highly-detailed custom creation.

The original moulded LEGO Star Wars Rancor figure fetches high prices on the aftermarket after appearing in just 2013’s 75005 Rancor Pit with listings at an average of £112.85 new or £80.51 used. Thankfully, there’s an affordable yet impressive solution and all you need is three copies of 76967 Little Eatie: T. rex for £19.99 / $24.99 / €24.99 each.

LEGO Jurassic World 76967 Little Eatie T. rex 1 1024x760

For £59.97 / $74.97 / €74.97 (or less when the new Jurassic World set is on sale) and $7 for the instructions, you can put together Tomasso‘s custom Rancor figure, which makes great use of the brown elements in the set to build a suitably rugged and massive figure.

For those on a budget, the build is a great alternative to the older LEGO Rancor figure and proves that the creature can be depicted using bricks while keeping the most important aspects of the creature – its size and shape.

Compared to the moulded figure secondhand, you’ll be spending on average half as much on three copies of 76967 Little Eatie: T. rex, leaving you with plenty of budget to depict the Rancor pit itself using another official set. With no second LEGO Rancor despite 2022 rumours, this is one path worth considering for LEGO Star Wars that don’t mind a brick-built Rancor.

76967 Little Eatie: T. rex is available now for £19.99 / $24.99 / €24.99 and you can read our review of the Jurassic Park build by clicking here.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
