Consider a different direction for LEGO Marvel Iron Man bust

The recent LEGO Marvel 76327 Iron Man MK4 Bust offers a different take on the helmet collection, but there’s a more grounded path for the set.

LEGO Marvel’s new 76327 Iron Man MK4 Bust is out now for £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99, depicting the upper half of Iron Man’s torso with a minifigure. The bust concept is comparable to the multi-theme Helmet Collection, but still opts for the same style of display base.

Those with additional budget aiming for a model more grounded in the Marvel universe, though, might want to take a page out of hachiroku24‘s book.

The LEGO Ideas fan designer’s latest project has been to turn 76327 Iron Man MK4 Bust into a diorama straight from Tony Stark’s workshop, adding chains, hooks, a much bigger stand and arms to the existing build. It’s a major expansion on the set, and not for those looking for a budget-friendly build. You can’t deny the quality of the resulting model, though.

The addition of a prototype helmet beneath the main model continues the scope of the official set, while the cable and chains more closely link the bust build to the stand around it, incorporating it in a different way than the official set does..

The new LEGO Marvel sets were always intended to be just busts, as we can see in some concept models, but the custom Marvel creation offers an alternate take on what the new busts can be. While the concept might need to be scaled down in an official set, it demonstrates the potential of the bust builds.

76327 Iron Man MK4 Bust is available now alongside 76326 Iron Spider-Man Bust for £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99 each. Don’t forget that you can currently score double LEGO Insiders points on these and all sets until the end of June 23.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
