Dublin’s second LEGO Store is now open for business

The second official LEGO Store in Dublin – and the second in Ireland full stop – has now opened its doors to the public.

Based in Dublin’s Blanchardstown Centre just outside the city centre, the new store spans a total 186 square metres, and includes all the hallmarks of any good LEGO Store: a Pick a Brick wall, a Build a Minifigure station and plenty of sets to buy. This isn’t a flagship store, however, so you won’t find any of the ‘retailtainment’ experiences designed for Leicester Square, Barcelona and so on.

The store was scheduled to open in October and has now opened its doors to the public, reports The Retail Bulletin. Recent releases including 10318 Concorde and 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser are apparently all in stock and ready to buy. That’s good news if you’re nearby and don’t want to play the waiting game, as both of those sets are currently on back order at LEGO.com.

“We’ve had a fantastic turn out already on opening day and we look forward to welcoming more LEGO fans from across Dublin and neighbouring counties to experience what the store has to offer, which includes brilliant LEGO play experiences for all ages and a range of much-loved sets,” said Amy Pearson, director of EMEA marketing for LEGO Retail.

Like other LEGO Stores, the Blanchardstown location will be taking part in spooky seasonal activities, including the Halloween Ghost Hunt (from today through October 31) and the Black Cat Halloween make and take (October 28 and 29).

“It’s great to have the LEGO store now open and we know adults and children alike will be hugely excited to visit the brand’s experiential store,” added Sharon Walsh, leasing director for Blanchardstown Centre.

“We are always on the lookout for stores offering something different for our customers and the interactive amenities such as the Pick a Brick Wall, Build a Minifigure Tower and extensive range of sets is what makes Blanchardstown Centre such a top destination in the Dublin area.”

The new LEGO Store is located on the second floor of Blanchardstown Centre, and is open from 9am to 9pm weekdays, 9am to 7pm on Saturdays, and 10am to 6pm on Sundays.

Blanchardstown Centre is Dublin’s biggest retail destination, spanning a colossal 1.1 million square feet, so it feels like an obvious location for a LEGO Store – even if it’s just under an hour away from the Grafton Street store, which first opened in August 2022.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
