The date from when you’ll be able to get hold of 40912 Sea Serpent and the spending threshold required for the LEGO Ideas GWP have now been confirmed.
The LEGO Group officially revealed 40912 Sea Serpent today, a 241-piece future GWP based on a reworking of the 1992 classic 6057 Sea Serpent by contest winner, HallowedBrick02. The good news is we now have initial details of exactly when the LEGO Ideas promotional freebie will be available and how much you’ll need to spend in order to get your hands on the set.
According to the LEGO Ideas blog, 40912 Sea Serpent will be up for grabs from July 7, 2026 with minimum purchases of $180 / €180 (so potentially around £160 in the UK), although it’s unclear at this stage if that applies to any and all qualifying sets purchased from that date or just specific models.
In addition, full details of the upcoming promotional event will appear on LEGO.com on July 7, which is likely to coincide with this year’s LEGO Insiders Days. Last summer's event took place from July 8 to July 17 and included double points, discounts and multiple free GWPs.
Those hoping to get their hands on 40912 Sea Serpent can look forward to a model that features a fabric sail and two Black Knight minifigures, along with various accessories and newly-printed and exclusive shields based around the mould that first appeared in 77092 Great Deku Tree.
