Early reviews mark LEGO Disney’s Celebration Train largely as a success
Posted ahead of LEGO 43212 Disney Celebration Train’s release, early looks at the set have praised its simplicity, despite a few design let-downs with the minifigures.
An early YouTube review by just2good covered all aspects of the new celebration set for Disney’s 100th anniversary, revealing certain aspects that may not have been noticed yet just by looking at the official images on the LEGO site.
In terms of the actual train, the design seems to be well put together, with only printed pieces as the 4+ sets don’t contain any stickers, which is definitely a bonus for the set in general. Including the fact that there are six minifigures as well as the train and a Mickey cupcake stand, the set seems to have enough there in terms of value, despite its size and age rating.
However, we can definitely see that the minifigures did have some slightly disappointing flaws. Some of these have already been looked at, but we can now also see that Minnie’s cloth skirt doesn’t quite sit well on her minifigure, as well as Moana using an already seen LEGO Friends hair piece with holes for accessories.
And while the train is good overall, as just2good notes, ‘printing on Peter Pan’s legs and new variation to Woody’ would have improved the minifigure aspect of the set. But putting the whole set together, it’s still a good concept and one we’d like to see more of with different minifigures in the future.
The set will officially be released on April 1 2023, and will be available to buy for £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99.
