England Lionesses Michelle Agyemang and Lucy Bronze team up for LEGO projects
Two England footballers, Michelle Agyemang and Lucy Bronze, teamed up to build a LEGO stadium during downtime from Lionesses training.
England striker Michelle Agyemang was the latest of the Lionesses to sit in the Diary Room, a running feature from the England women’s team that offers an insight into the players’ lives off the pitch. In her interview, she revealed that not only is building LEGO a hobby of hers, but Agyemang also partnered with one of her teammates on a recent build.
“There are quite a few things I do to fill my spare time,” said Agyemang, “I do LEGO. I was building a really tiny stadium the other day because I was bored and suddenly Lucy [Bronze] was like, ‘We can make this so much better’. I didn’t know she has really good skills when it comes to LEGO.
“We made a replica of the stadium and now she wants to make it a tradition, so I think we’ll have to do Geneva next time.”
Agyemang and Bronze aren’t the only Lionesses to take up LEGO, with winger Lauren Hemp also a long-time LEGO builder – so much so that she was starting to become overwhelmed by her building backlog in April of last year. The LEGO Group has a long history of supporting women’s football, immortalising the Lionesses in LEGO form at LEGOLAND Windsor and as part of the company’s Play Unstoppable campaign last year.
