Gardaland Resort in Italy will be the first place in Europe to get a LEGOLAND Water Park.
It was announced today that Gardaland Resort, Verona, Italy, will open the first LEGOLAND Water Park in Europe. LEGOLAND Water Parks are currently located alongside the theme parks in the USA, Dubai and Malaysia.
“The LEGO brand is renowned globally and will undoubtedly contribute to strengthening Gardaland Resort’s position as a major European tourist destination, as well as confirming it as a top player for family entertainment,” said Gardaland CEO Aldo Maria Vigevani.
Gardaland is the eighth most visited theme park in Europe, with 2.9 million visitors going through the gates in 2018.
The news follows the recent announcement that the owners of the LEGO Group have partnered with investors to buy Merlin Entertainments, the company that owns LEGOLAND as well as many other attraction brands including Sea Life and Madame Tussauds. It is likely that this proposal was already in place before the deal, it is not yet know if there will be any change in direction for Merlin under the new ownership.
The LEGOLAND Water Park at Gardaland Resort will open in 2020.
