Every car in both LEGO Speed Champions and Technic
Rumour has it that a LEGO Speed Champions set will return via Technic later this year and it wouldn’t be the first crossover between the themes.
According to a new rumour from the reliable lego_minecraft_goat, the Ferrari FXX K is getting a second LEGO model following a Speed Champions design from 2017 via Technic this summer. While this rumour is exciting (and to be taken with caution), rest assured that this isn’t a first for either theme. It’s fairly common for cars to be depicted in both ranges at entirely different scales too.
The most recent examples of a crossover between the two themes come via 42206 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 F1 Car and 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 F1 Race Car as well as 42207 Ferrari SF-24 F1 Car and 77242 Ferrari SF-24 F1 Race Car, all of which launch on March 1.
Here’s a quick look at every time a car has appeared in both LEGO Technic and Speed Champions, only including the exact model of the vehicle in both themes based on their technical specifications, but including different team liveries where appropriate.

From Ford to Fast & Furious, McLaren and more, the list of models that have appeared in both lines is longer than you might have thought and one of the most notable examples is the 42125 Ferrari 488 GTE AF CORSE #51, which appeared in Speed Champions as part of both 75886 Ferrari 488 GT3 Scuderia Corsa and 75889 Ferrari Ultimate Garage. We’ve only included an image of the former in the above gallery due to the similar colour scheme to the Technic set.
While the rumour of 42212 Ferrari FXX K has yet to be confirmed, there’s plenty of precedent for repeated cars across both LEGO Technic and Speed Champions, since the themes use entirely different building systems and scales to sufficiently differentiate between the models.
