Explore the surface of Mars with Amazon’s LEGO Technic deals
You might not be going to Mars personally any time soon, but you can at least imagine you’re exploring the red planet’s surface with Amazon’s latest LEGO Technic deals.
The LEGO Group’s Technic sets have long been a gateway to worlds we might never conventionally get the chance to explore in person, whether it’s driving a massive crawler crane or picking up garbage. But every now and then, a LEGO Technic set goes beyond the mundane to explore a concept truly out of this world – just like 42158 NASA Mars Rover Perseverance.
Normally retailing for £84.99, the 1,132-piece set recreates the real-life Mars rover with impressive accuracy. And you can grab it from Amazon right now for just £63.98, which represents a stratospheric 25% saving on its RRP. You’d need to spend a fair bit more than that to have any hope of travelling to Mars for yourself. (And, erm, live in a sci-fi movie.)
42158 NASA Mars Rover Perseverance packs in all the essential features of NASA’s actual rover, which is currently three years and eight days (or 1,073 Mars sols) into its mission. Building LEGO versions of space vehicles is somehow far more compelling knowing that the real deal is currently out there in space operating as intended.
Those functions include 360-degree steering, six-wheel suspension (got to navigate all those Mars rocks, after all), movable arms and detailed scientific instruments. You can also enhance your LEGO Mars experience with an augmented-reality app to learn more about Perseverance and its mission. Finally, the model includes a tiny recreation of NASA’s Ingenuity helicopter, used to test powered flight on Mars.
All that for just £63.98 feels like the LEGO Technic deal of the week, month or maybe even year, so head over to Amazon to claim yours while the price holds. If it’s already changed by the time you read this, click through to our LEGO deals page for more of the best offers currently available.

Author Profile
- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
