Fan pitches perfect LEGO crossover – LEGO Magic: The Gathering

A talented Reddit user has come up with the perfect crossover for the LEGO Group to pursue next – LEGO Magic: The Gathering cards.

The LEGO community is filled with talented artists and Reddit user klug_alters has made that fact more clear than ever before with an impressive custom Magic: The Gathering card featuring none other than LEGO Castle’s Majisto. From a forced perspective to realistic shading, you might think you’re looking at a custom model, but this is all hand-painted.

The talent on show in this card is simply astounding and this crossover isn’t as odd as you might expect given recent partnerships. Magic: The Gathering is a card game owned by Hasbro, who the LEGO Group has been bolstering their partnership with in recent years.

From Transformers to Peppa Pig and Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering might just be the perfect crossover to come next as showcased by klug_alters. A series of retro LEGO cards for the game wouldn’t be odd compared to other Magic: The Gathering crossovers too, which have included Dungeons & Dragons, Fortnite, My Little Pony and much more.

The LEGO Group has plenty of experience with their own card games too, including in the early days of NINJAGO. Partnering with an experienced and well-known title might be wiser for any future collaborations though.

For now, LEGO Magic: Gathering remains a fantasy as depicted by klug_alters but the LEGO Group’s consistent partnerships with Hasbro gives it more of a chance than ever before. As the Reddit user has showcased, the crossover would work well if done correctly.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
