First Avatar 2 trailer now showing before Doctor Strange
The first trailer for the upcoming Avatar: The Way of Water can be seen exclusively before Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Those of you who visited the cinema this weekend to watch Marvel Studios’ latest comic book epic will have seen a first glimpse of James Cameron’s forthcoming sci-fi sequel. The trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water is currently showing before screenings of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness but is not yet available to watch online.
The brief footage that’s glimpsed reveals that the sequel’s settings may be shifting to more underwater biomes on Pandora, with plenty of sea creatures, aquatic environments and swimming Na’vi. Most of the cast of the original film will be returning once again, including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver, and they’ll be joined by newcomer Kate Winslet in an as-yet-undisclosed role.
A recent interview confirmed that LEGO sets based on the first Avatar and its upcoming sequel are on their way in 2022, with an online retailer listing four sets with set numbers, piece counts and prices:
75571 Avatar 1 – €39.99, 560 pieces
75572 Jake and Neytiri’s first flight on a Banshee – €54.99, 572 pieces
75573 Avatar 3 – €89.99, 887 pieces
75574 Avatar 4 – €139.99, 1,212 pieces
There’s been no announcement from the LEGO Group regarding the theme so far and the names above would seem to be basic placeholders for now. We’ll update this story as soon as have more information on the LEGO Avatar sets and a possible release date.
Avatar: The Way of Water will be released in cinemas worldwide on December 16.
