First LEGO 2K Drive Season 2 details revealed – contents, release date

Nintendo has revealed the first details of LEGO 2K Drive’s Season 2 content, including the number of goodies up for grabs and a potential release date.

We’re currently well into the first season of bonus content for LEGO 2K Drive, which debuted across consoles and PC on June 28. Season 1 is headlined by two LEGO Speed Champions cars inspired by the Fast & Furious franchise, the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T and the Nissan Skyline GT-R, along with eight other vehicles and 10 new driver characters. A total of 101 premium rewards can be unlocked for owners of the Drive Pass (or the individual season pass).

By comparison, Season 2 will apparently include a total of 103 premium rewards, among which are 11 vehicles, 10 drivers and 27 brick packs. That’s according to Nintendo’s UK storefront, which indicates Season 2 will cost £8.99 on its own (though you’ll already have automatic access if you have the Year 1 Drive Pass) and will launch on September 13, 2023.

Nintendo Australia, meanwhile, has published a teaser image for Season 2, giving us a first glimpse at the content included. It looks like the theme for this season will be animals, with a brick-built pig, unicorn, flamingo and what may or may not be a llama all pictured, alongside a black and blue car and the new-for-summer-2023 LEGO Friends 41749 Newsroom Van.

Further details have yet to be revealed by publisher 2K Games, but will presumably be announced any day now if the release date of September 13 is accurate. Don’t worry if you haven’t yet unlocked all of the Season 1 rewards, though: 2K Games has promised that there are no time limits on the individual seasons, and all content can be claimed at your own pace.

LEGO 2K Drive is out now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch and PC.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
