First look at Darth Vader in Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series

A first look at Darth Vader, played by Hayden Christensen, in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars series has been revealed.

While Obi-Wan Kenobi will see the return of Ewan McGregor as the Jedi Knight, it has long been confirmed that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Darth Vader. Entertainment Weekly has now shared the first look at the Sith Lord’s latest appearance as part of recent marketing for the show that has included a new teaser trailer.

The scene shows the silhouette of Darth Vader, backlit by what appears to be light from his meditation chamber that was represented in 75296 Darth Vader Meditation Chamber. Accompanying the image was an excerpt of an interview discussing the role of the Sith Lord in the series.

“His shadow is cast across so much of what we do,” shares series writer Joby Harold in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “And the degree of his proximity to that shadow is something that we’ll discover. But he is very much a part of the show emotionally for Obi-Wan, and possibly beyond that as well.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi starts streaming on Disney+ from May 25, on the 45th anniversary of A New Hope. Rumours suggest that the series will be receiving a BrickHeadz set featuring the Jedi and Darth Vader.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
