First look at LEGO DC summer 2024 wave

Three sets from the LEGO DC Batman the Animated Series have just been revealed via early reviews, offering our first look at the upcoming sets.

76270 Batman Mech Armor, 76273 Batman Construction Figure and the Bat-Pod Bike, and 76274 Batman with the Batmobile vs Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze have all just been spotted online in a few online reviews from LEGO YouTubers AshnFlash and MiniSuperHeroesToday. This offers an early look at the not-yet-revealed sets, in an unusual move from the LEGO Group. It’s rare to see reviews for sets not yet on LEGO.com, which could mean a full reveal confirming international prices could be on the cards.

For now, here’s a look at the sets in more detail, from the bat-emblazoned mech to the iconic car from the animated series.

LEGO DC 76270 Batman Mech Armor

Price: £TBC / $14.99/ €TBC Pieces: 140 Release date: June 1, 2024

Thanks to MiniSuperHeroesToday, we’ve got our first look at 76270 Batman Mech Armor. Coming with the expected Batman minifigure, the mech itself is reminiscent of ones from other themes, such as the trio of LEGO Star Wars mechs we got recently. It appears to be fully posable, with joints at the ankle, knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow.

Judging from the LEGO YouTuber’s review, 76270 Batman Mech Armor does what it says on the tin. Without an exclusive (or even impressive) minifigure, there’s not a lot to write home about in this LEGO DC set. As MiniSuperHeroesToday bluntly sums it up: “This is the worst superhero mech that’s ever been released.”

LEGO DC 76273 Batman Construction Figure and the Bat-Pod Bike

Next up is 76273 Batman Construction Figure and the Bat-Pod Bike, with MiniSuperHeroesToday offering a sceptical but more hesitantly positive review. Although not being a fan of buildable characters, the YouTuber does assert that this will likely be popular among those that do.

The buildable Batman is built with strong proportions to his bike, with the ability to sit lying flat along the vehicle, much like often seen in various Batman iterations, such as Christian Bale. When not on the bike, the ankle, knee, shoulder, elbow, and neck joints all move, so there appear to be various potential poses open to builders once 76273 Batman Construction Figure and the Bat-Pod Bike is complete.

LEGO DC 76274 Batman with the Batmobile vs Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze

Price: £TBC / $59.99 / €TBC Pieces: 435 Release date: June 1, 2024

Despite being cheaper and smaller than 76273 Batman Construction Figure and the Bat-Pod Bike, 76274 Batman with the Batmobile vs Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze appears to offer more bang for your buck at first glance. It also includes a brick-built vehicle, alongside an information plaque and three minifigures, all of whom are named in the set name making it quite the mouthful.

Any fan of the Batman animated series will be heartened to see a compact and relatively affordable version of the car, in its signature dark blue. The costumes for the characters also stay close to their animated counterparts, meaning this set could well attract attention as both a display model and playset.
