First look at LEGO IKEA BYGGLEK storage boxes
Fans can get a first look at the new collaboration between the LEGO Group and IKEA, with the BYGGLEK storage boxes.
Last week, LEGO BYGGLEK storage boxes turned up at IKEA in Germany, finally revealing some of what the collaboration between the two companies was all about. Now, Stone Wars has shared a review of three different sized boxes.
Each box is made up of a base, then four plastic walls that slot together, finished off with a studded top. On each wall there is a recessed section with a row of six studs. The boxes are stackable, but do not attach together particularly well, the review notes.
Prices in the German store that they were found start at €12.99. Surprisingly, the copyright mark on the bottom of the boxes is 2018, suggesting that quite a simple product has had a long gestation period.
The Sone Wars review finds the products to be a bit of a muddle – not particularly practical as storage boxes, not particularly useful to build on either.
