First look at upcoming LEGO 40926 SEGA Genesis Console
Another brick-built LEGO retro video game replica will be launching this year in the shape of the classic 40926 SEGA Genesis Console.
As it turns out, last year’s 40769 SEGA Genesis Controller GWP was merely a tease for a much more impressive upcoming LEGO video game set. This summer will see the release of 40926 SEGA Genesis Console a brick-built version of the iconic gaming machine, which was also known as the Mega Drive in Europe, Japan and Australia.
Clocking in at 479 pieces and priced at what seems to be an incredibly reasonable £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99, 40926 SEGA Genesis Console offers a scaled-down version of the 16-bit device, unlike previous near 1:1 iterations of other video game consoles.
The LEGO set features the predominantly black machine itself, two wired controllers and even a mini Sonic the Hedgehog 2 game that can be placed into the console’s top-loading cartridge slot.
40926 SEGA Genesis Console measures over 4cm high, 16cm wide and 12cm deep and comes with stickers and alternate elements that will allow fans to customise the look of the video game device, changing its appearance to that of a SEGA Mega Drive instead, if they so wish.
In addition, there’s a tiny Sonic the Hedgehog mosaic hidden within 40926 SEGA Genesis Console, which echoes a similar take on the classic game that appeared inside 40769 SEGA Genesis Controller.
40926 SEGA Genesis Console will be launching on June 1, 2026 priced at £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99 with more details and pre-orders likely available very soon.
