Five brand new LEGO sets available to pre-order with double VIP points

If you’ve already grabbed all the June 2023 sets you’re after, here are five brand new LEGO sets currently available to pre-order with double VIP points – and up to two gifts-with-purchase.

The LEGO Group’s latest double VIP points event runs until the end of June 13, so you’ve got just over a day left to take advantage of 10% cashback on all LEGO sets online and in-store. You’ll get those returns in the form of VIP points, which can be exchanged for discount vouchers in the VIP Rewards Centre. If you haven’t yet signed up to the VIP program, click here for a complete rundown of how it all works.

If you’re signed up but have somehow already run out of new sets to buy, never fear: you can still rack up VIP points (and acquire up to two gifts-with-purchase) by pre-ordering products due out later this summer. Spend at least £95 / €100 in the UK and Europe and you’ll also receive 40589 Pirate Ship Playground, while orders above £45 / $50 / €50 will qualify for 40607 Summer Fun VIP Add-on Pack.

Announced all the way back in March, 75361 Spider Tank has subsequently flown under the radar for the LEGO Star Wars theme. But there’s at least one very good reason to bump this Mandalorian set back up your wish list, and that’s the brand new Bo-Katan Kryze minifigure. You can pre-order it now for £46.99 / $49.99 / €52.99, which works out to £4.70 / $5 / €5.30 back in VIP points through June 13.

71469 Nightmare Shark Ship

The flagship LEGO DREAMZzz set launches August 1, and while pretty much all the products in this new in-house theme are worth your time, 71469 Nightmare Shark Ship offers the biggest VIP points haul. The 1,389-piece set is priced at £119.99 / $139.99 / €139.99, so you’ll earn a cool £12 / $14 / €14 in points (to spend on discount vouchers) by pre-ordering today.

71424 Donkey Kong’s Tree House

Theme: Super Mario Price: £57.99 / $59.99 / €64.99 Pieces: 555 Release date: August 1, 2023

The only LEGO Super Mario set currently available to pre-order introduces Donkey Kong to the interactive theme as a buildable figure, on whose back Mario, Peach and Luigi can ride around. The digital figures can also use DK to interact with a buildable Cranky Kong figure, knock a banana off a tree, take a nap in a hammock and even play the conga drums. Pre-ordering 71424 Donkey Kong’s Tree House before the end of play June 13 will rack up a score of £5.80 / $6 / €6.50 in VIP points.

76262 Captain America’s Shield

The latest LEGO Marvel display piece will ship from August 1, and retails for £179.99 / $199.99 / €209.99. Pre-ordering 76262 Captain America’s Shield during double VIP points will therefore net you £18 / $20 / €21 back to spend in the VIP Rewards Centre, putting you well on your way to true Avenger status. Pair it with 76209 Thor’s Hammer for the beginnings of a Marvel take on 43227 Villain Icons.

76224 Batmobile: Batman vs. The Joker Chase

Theme: DC Price: £42.99 / $47.99 / €47.99 Pieces: 438 Release date: August 1, 2023

If your superhero allegiances lie with DC over Marvel, there’s always 76224 Batmobile: Batman vs. The Joker Chase. Recreating the 1989 Batmobile – which returns to the silver screen this week in the long-awaited The Flash – the 438-piece set retails for £42.99 / $47.99 / €47.99, so will net you £4.30 / $4.80 / €4.80 back on your Bat-credit card. Like the rest of the sets here, it will ship from August 1.

Don’t forget that pre-orders also qualify for LEGO gifts-with-purchase. In the UK and Europe, 40589 Pirate Ship Playground is free with orders above £95 / €100, while 40607 Summer Fun VIP Add-on Pack is free worldwide with purchases over £45 / $50 / €50.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
