Five LEGO Wicked sets we need this October
LEGO Wicked is on the way following a lengthy trailer for the upcoming musical, offering an idea of what we can expect the mini-dolls to populate.
LEGO Wicked launches on October 1, 2024, with four sets and mini-dolls based on the movie over a month before it releases. The official trailer for the movie was recently released, showcasing the many locations and even some vehicles that would be ideal for LEGO sets.
Looking at the lengthy trailer, here are five sets we’d like to see for LEGO Wicked, though it has been confirmed only four are on the way. While the trailer might offer some ideas for the LEGO Wicked sets, the LEGO Group could lean into the musical side of the movie and depict scenes with musical numbers instead.
5 – Shiz University

Shiz University is a central location in the musical movie and where the dual protagonists of the film meet and it’s shown off a lot in the trailer. From Elphaba and Glinda’s dorm to Doctor Dillamond’s classroom to the intricate exterior and the water located on campus, it’s an ideal location for a larger LEGO Wicked set.
4 – The hot air balloon

A short scene in the trailer depicts a hot air balloon rising up a tower and the LEGO Group has plenty of experience with these vehicles especially in mini-doll themes. Both LEGO Friends and LEGO Disney feature hot air balloons and such a build would be familiar territory for a smaller LEGO Wicked set.
3 – The emerald train

The trailer features a highly detailed emerald train transporting Elphaba to the Emerald City. LEGO trains are all too familiar for enthusiasts and we doubt that fans wouldn’t welcome the green vehicle from the trailer, though it might have to be scaled down for a LEGO Wicked set.
2 – The Munchkin village

A Munchkin village is featured twice in the trailer surrounded by colourful buildings and it could be an ideal location for a mid-sized LEGO Wicked set with one or two buildings. There could even be a musical number here to inspire play features.
1 – The Emerald City

Aside from Shiz University, one of the most likely subjects for a LEGO Wicked set is the Emerald City with its intricate art nouveau decor and the giant face of the Wizard as played by Jeff Goldblum. It would probably need to be the biggest of the rumoured sets but this, Shiz University or both are ideal picks for one of the four upcoming sets.
