Five March 2025 LEGO sets you might have overlooked
In addition to the biggest LEGO set releases of March 2025, there are plenty of other essential models you shouldn’t overlook this month.
This weekend has seen a huge wave of new LEGO sets released online and in stores, with nearly 40 models vying for the attention of builders far and wide. Nearly 40 such products were launched yesterday, making choosing which sets to pick up slightly tricky.
Of those, there are multiple LEGO Formula 1, Minecraft, Ideas and Icons models up for grabs, but there are also plenty of hidden gems that might possibly not be on your radar. With that in mind, here’s our take on five LEGO sets you may just overlook while shopping, each of which is well-worth adding to your collection.
10362 French Café
Theme: Icons Price: £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99 Pieces: 1,101 Release date: March 1, 2025

The LEGO Icons design team is definitely trying something different when it comes to 10362 French Café, even if the results might not be to everyone’s taste. Coming in at 1,101 pieces, the set is essentially just a brick-built façade, but it’s not without plenty of charm.
The LEGO Icons set manages to pack in a lot of detail and certainly does its best to present a decent enough display model, even if there’s no interior or minifigures to speak of. However, as the start of a potential new subtheme, we’re still interested to see what the future holds for more such releases.
21355 The Evolution of STEM
Theme: Ideas Price: £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99 Pieces: 879 Release date: March 1, 2025

Based on danielbradleyy’s winning ‘Knowledge is Power’ LEGO Ideas submission, 21355 The Evolution of STEM is the perfect set for anyone with a keen interest in science. Packed into the brick-built book are plenty of secrets to discover, plus a rotating DNA strand, floating carbon atom, NASA Voyager probe and more sat on top.
In addition, the LEGO Ideas creation also boasts unique minifigures of three famous scientists: Marie Curie, Sir Isaac Newton and George Washington Carver. There’s a lot to appreciate when it comes to 21355 The Evolution of STEM and we suspect it’s one model that may ultimately appeal to more people than initially expected.
31170 Pink Flamingo
Theme: Ideas Price: £19.99 / $24.99 / €24.99 Pieces: 288 Release date: March 1, 2025

What’s great about LEGO Creator 3-in-1 sets is that they’re usually fairly affordable and offer up a trio of interesting builds to assemble too. A case in point is 31170 Pink Flamingo, a 288-piece model that presents the option to construct an exotic bird, a cockatoo and an axolotl, all of which consist of multiple bright pink pieces.
While the three animals do have to be built separately, it wouldn’t break the bank if you decided you wanted to display the trio of LEGO Creator 3-in-1 creatures next to each other. Each of the flamingo, cockatoo and axolotl models are also poseable, making the set an affordable purchase and an enjoyable building experience.
43272 Heihei
Theme: Disney Price: £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99 Pieces: 566 Release date: March 1, 2025

While LEGO Disney fans have more than a few purchase options this month, it’s 43272 Heihei that’s peaked our interest. Based on Moana’s scrawny chicken companion, the brightly-coloured bird boasts a rotating head, poseable wings and tail feathers, and a decorative display stand with nameplate.
A surprisingly detailed and striking build, 43272 Heihei has a face only a mother could love (as noted in our review) and the bird’s massive eyes do seem to follow you around the room. Those fans looking for a very different kind of LEGO Disney model to include in their collections would do well to add the set to their wanted lists.
75429 AT-AT Driver Helmet
Theme: Star Wars Price: £69.99 / $69.99 / €79.99 Pieces: 730 Release date: March 1, 2025

Surprisingly the only new LEGO Star Wars set released on March 1, 75429 AT-AT Driver Helmet would seem to be a reintroduction to the recently dormant Helmet Collection. At 730 pieces, the build offers up an accurate version of the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it Imperial headgear, one that’s more than just a mash-up of 75276 Stormtrooper Helmet and 75274 TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet.
Detailed, complex and with a unique appearance, 75429 AT-AT Driver Helmet breathes new life into the subtheme, with a LEGO Star Wars model that’s enjoyable to build and great to display. We’re just hoping that this will be the start of even more such helmet creations from a galaxy far, far away to be released in 2025.
