Five things we found in the LEGO Star Wars Celebration 2022 sets

Two full LEGO Star Wars sets were revealed at Star Wars Celebration 2022, as well as a part of a third, and they’re filled with details to discover.

The first models for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Andor are on the way this summer, with a Star Wars advent calendar also confirmed for 2022. The first two have now been listed on the official online store so we’ve analysed all of the official images to see what secrets these sets are hiding.

5 – Stim canisters

Those who have played Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will likely be familiar with the stim canisters that BD-1 shoots out for Cal Kestis to use in the heat of battle. These health packs make an appearance in 75335 BD-1, fitted into a panel at the side of the droid. You could also use this compartment as a secret storage space, hiding anything from a brick-built kyber crystal to other types of Jedi relics.

4 – Two types of tiles

The two colours of tiles used on the back of 75335 BD-1‘s head aren’t just for style, as the arrangement of the colours indicates the droid’s mood – a fact that you might not have known throughout your playthrough of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. You might wish to rearrange the tiles to depict a message, or otherwise represent BD-1’s mood too.

3 – Underside detailing

Occasionally, LEGO Star Wars sets can feature fewer details at angles in which they are not meant to be viewed, showing the underside of studs as is the nature of these plastic pieces. However, 75338 Ambush on Ferrix approaches this issue by featuring a sticker on the underside of the Mobile Tac-Pod’s wings, to continue the yellow and grey colour scheme when they are angled up.

2 – A nearly life-sized droid

According to the informative plaque included in 75335 BD-1, the droid is 43cm tall. You might have assumed from the size of the set that the LEGO BD-1 is life-sized, but the official images reveal that this isn’t quite the case as 75335 BD-1 only stands 31cm tall. It’s not quite to scale as the character in the game, but it’s close enough that it should still look the part on display.

1 – That’s no sun

Despite the hatred the formed Jedi Knight holds for sand, Darth Vader will be constructing a sandcastle in the 2022 LEGO Star Wars advent calendar. The new minifigure is wearing a tank top over his iconic outfit, with the Death Star acting as the sun setting over a tropical setting. This imagery reminds us of Scarif from Rogue One, but it’s not yet confirmed that this planet is the same.
