Four BIONICLE-relevant LEGO sets you can get for the new GWP
The new LEGO BIONICLE gift is available now with a select range of themes, but there are some interesting options for fans of the theme.
While the range of LEGO themes eligible for 40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua, for which you need to spend £95 / $100 / €100 or more, is limited to just City, Classic, NINJAGO, Monkie Kid, Creator 3-in-1, DOTS and Friends.
However, even for the most enthusiastic BIONICLE fans, there are some notable models in that selection that link back or otherwise reference the theme. Here are four BIONICLE-relevant LEGO sets you can get for the new GWP.
4 – 11021 90 Years of Play
Theme: Classic Price: £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99 Pieces: 1,100
With the inclusion of Tahu in a simplistic style, 11021 90 Years of Play will have you over halfway to the threshold for 40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua while you celebrate the 90th anniversary of the LEGO Group too.
3 – 31124 Super Robot
Theme: Creator 3-in-1 Price: £8.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 Pieces: 159

As revealed by designer George Gilliatt, 31124 Super Robot works well for a custom depiction of Tahu at a similar scale to the GWP. Though it’s less expensive at £8.99 / $9.99 / €9.99, it could be a good add-on to an order that just misses the threshold.
2 – 41755 Nova’s Room
Theme: Friends Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 Pieces: 179
Nova is a new member of the revamped LEGO Friends cast and enjoys a game as seen in 41755 Nova’s Room. However, the game on the screen might look familiar as it includes Tahu and Kopaka and there’s even a white statue that may be a Kopaka model on a shelf nearby. That’s another theme in the limited range eligible for the GWP that has a reference to BIONICLE.
1 – 80036 The City of Lanterns
Theme: Monkie Kid Price: £119.99 / $159.99 / €139.99 Pieces: 2,187
As reported in our guide to every reference in 800036 The City of Lanterns, the huge LEGO Monkie Kid set has two references to BIONICLE with two logos to find. Not entirely related to the theme, but Hero Factory’s emblem can also be found in 80036 The City of Lanterns and it’s more than enough for 40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua.
