Four more LEGO parades before 80111 Lunar New Year Parade

An official LEGO parade set is launching soon for the 2023 Lunar New Year but it’s far from the first time the LEGO Group has explored parades. 

One of the four Lunar New Year models for 2023 is 80111 Lunar New Year Parade, providing three floats with decorations themed to traditions and LEGO bricks too, complete with some unique minifigures. 

However, this isn’t the LEGO Group’s first experience with brick-built or brick-inspired parade floats, even outside of official sets: 

4 – 10597 Birthday Parade 

Released in 2015 as a LEGO Disney DUPLO model, 10597 Birthday is a simple depiction of a parade featuring Mickey and Minnie mouse, though this doesn’t quite compare to some of the LEGO Group’s other parade contributions. 

3 – 41301 Puppy Parade 

LEGO Friends also saw a parade build in 2017 in the form of 41301 Puppy Parade, opting for a smaller build and a singular float based on a dog. 

2 – Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

The LEGO Group has had two floats in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade over the years, including the more recent Brick-Changer. However, before this latest design, the Carousel of Imagination was delighting guests. 

1 – LEGOLAND Deutschland 

In LEGOLAND Deutschland, you can experience a fully themed LEGO parade complete with floats, performers and characters. These include a recreation of the entrance archway, a submarine, fire truck, castle, 10955 My First Animal Train and a LEGO limousine.
