You might have missed these details in LEGO Harry Potter 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition

LEGO Harry Potter 76405 Hogwarts Express Collector’s edition is coming soon and there are a few details that you might have missed in the excitement of its reveal.

Arriving on August 31, 2022, 76405 Hogwarts Express is the latest huge model in LEGO Harry Potter, continuing the trend of Collectors’ Edition Wizarding World sets with the most detailed recreation of the Hogwarts Express ever made.

Following an early reveal and the official announcement of the model, we’ve picked out four things that you might have missed in all the excitement, including hidden play features.

4 – Overhead artwork

Above each set of seats in the Hogwarts Express sits a drawing of various locations around the world. The LEGO Harry Potter design team have replicated this inclusion with a stickered tile in the same spot in each cabin.

These four locations are hard to pick out, which is understandable considering the space that the graphic designers had to work with, though it’s still a fun detail that helps make 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition one of the most detailed LEGO trains.

3 – Turning wheels

Though it’s not featured in every image of 76405 Hogwarts Express, a crank can be inserted into the top of the front of the brick-built train to spin the wheels below, without moving the train further along the track.

It’s a good way of including a play feature but keeping it hidden so as not to affect the model’s appearance when on display.

2 – Interior lighting

For each of the three scenes recreated in the carriage of 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition, a light brick is included to add a magical touch to the moment.

These three light bricks are embedded in the roof of the carriage and can be accessed from the outside, meaning you can have the interior light up without needing to remove any of the access walls.

1 – A movable station

Considering the length of 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition and the space it can take up, you’ll be glad to know that the included station can be removed from the model and attached to multiple points of the track display base.

Where it can attach to has not been revealed, but this will likely make it easier to display the train with the station by bringing it to the front or the back, depending on where you have room.

If you look at the sticker sheet that was shown in an image prior to the official reveal, you can get a better look at the overhead artwork. They are actually silhouettes of past Harry Potter LEGO sets! They appear to be 4709 Hogwarts Castle (2001), 4730 Chamber of Secrets (2002), 4757 Hogwarts Castle (2004), and 5378 Hogwarts Castle (2007)!
