Hands-on with the new LEGO Icons 10366 Tropical Aquarium
We’ve had the chance to go hands-on with the upcoming LEGO Icons 10366 Tropical Aquarium, realising why some of the build wasn’t essential.
Our latest YouTube video is all about the brand-new 10366 Tropical Aquarium, bringing an underwater world to life in your home, but with a hefty cost in both currency and display space. We had the opportunity to take a much closer look at the 4,000-piece build at the recent LEGO Fan Media Days event, looking closely to see whether this £399.99 / $479.99 / €449.99 model is worth your time.
Watch our new video now to see everything you need to know about 10366 Tropical Aquarium ahead of its launch next month, alongside an exclusive gift-with-purchase.
At 52cm wide, 36cm tall and 28cm deep, 10366 Tropical Aquarium is a truly massive model, and one that you may struggle to find a space for in your home. It can’t be put up against a wall on its left or right side either, as long as you want access to the set’s moving parts.
While it is suited to be displayed with its back against a wall, real fish tanks are much more open and, as Matthew explains in the video, the blue backdrop is somewhat complain compared to the rest of the vibrant builds in the aquarium.
There’s no denying that the model is colourful and attractive, despite the fact that it doesn’t depict any specific species of fish. As you can see in the video, it’s at least a truly huge build, but this is thanks to the black outline of the tank, which raises the part count significantly. LEGO Icons 10366 Tropical Aquarium goes on sale on LEGO.com and in physical stores from November 13, retailing at £399.99 / $479.99 / €449.99. Pick it up during its first week to score the free 5009823 Fish Tank Filter & Fish Food, available from November 13 to 19 or while stocks last.

I’m 50/50 on this set with one day left to make a decision.
I would say though if it wasn’t in a tank it would be a no for me straight away. Personal preference obviously and can’t really justify why it just adds something for me
I’m no fish expert but was bought up with always having a black framed fish tank placed somewhere downstairs in the house and maybe it’s that nostalgic feeling that’s pulling me towards this.
Price point is another sticking point, £50 off and I think I’d be having no second thoughts.
