New Harry Potter game could time well with rumoured LEGO set
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions has been announced and the new game could time nicely with the rumoured LEGO 76416 Quidditch Trunk.
As rumoured recently by exabrickslego_go, 76416 Quidditch Trunk is said to be coming this summer with 599 pieces, just two less than 76399 Hogwarts Magical Trunk. The rumoured set might now have a head start with the announcement of the Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions game.
Though no release date has been set at the time of writing, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is accepting sign-ups for playtests. Following the recent reports of Hogwarts Legacy selling 256% more than estimates at launch, there may be interest in more Harry Potter games. Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is a multiplayer competitive title compared to the single-player experience of Hogwarts Legacy.
Based on the contents of 76399 Hogwarts Magical Trunk, it seems likely that another LEGO Harry Potter trunk model could include a mix of main characters and customisable minifigures. Rumour has it that 76416 Quidditch Trunk will include minifigures of Harry and Draco.
Though the exact details of 76416 Quidditch Trunk have not been reported, this may pair well with the confirmed character customisation coming to Quidditch Champions, adding another potential connection between the rumoured LEGO set aside from the fictional sport.
It could be that the rumoured 76416 Quidditch Trunk and the timing of this title are merely coincidental. However, the playtests of the game may at least increase interest in the set as players seek to recreate their characters – provided the rumour is accurate.
