Haunt your LEGO collection with new Halloween sets

The scariest time of the year is almost here, and the LEGO Group is kicking off Halloween early with a duo of seasonal sets, including one that calls back to a beloved model.

Ghouls and ghosts are set to gather on LEGO.com today as two new Halloween builds have launched in the form of 40497 Halloween Owl and 40493 Spider & Haunted House Pack.

The former continues the theme of seasonal animals on themed brick-built bases following the release of 40463 Easter Bunny earlier in the year. The latter shifts the focus to a pair of creations for decoration, depicting a spooky spider and haunted house hanging by a string (or possibly web in the spider’s case).

These are the two terrifying models now available on the official online store, try not to get too scared:

The LEGO designers are also continuing the mission of including easter eggs wherever they can in a set, and that extends to the seasonal theme of models. The latter creation of 40493 Spider & Haunted House Pack is the latest example of this, depicting a miniature version of 10228 Haunted House, complete with boarded-up windows.

You can get started in decorating your home ready for Halloween with the hanging builds for £8.99 / $9.99 / €9.99, just as long as you don’t think it too early to prepare for the Holiday.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
