How have LEGO BrickLink Series 5 sets changed?
The final designs for the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 5 sets reveal minimal changes from their initial designs, but there are differences.
The LEGO Group revealed the final BrickLink Designer Program Series 5 set design earlier this week, detailing what fans can expect to crowdfund in just over a month on June 10. We’re looking closely at the five models to see exactly what has changed from fan design to final sets, including what the official LEGO designers decided to keep the same.
910049 Adventure in Transylvania
Pieces: 4,056 Minifigures: 13 Stickers: 11 Designer: SleeplessNight Price: £299.99 / $349.99 / €349.99

56 pieces and two stickers have been added to SleeplessNight’s Adventure in Transylvania, but spotting any major differences is challenging. The minifigure designs have changed somewhat to be more modern, but otherwise, it’s hard to see what has been amended with those 56 pieces.
The beautiful Gothic architecture from the fan design remains throughout, with plenty of bats and gargoyles decorating the exterior,r and the multi-level interior remains unchanged. It demonstrates that SleeplessNight practically nailed the design from the start and it’s one of the most stunning BrickLink sets devised so far.
910050 Antique Shop
Pieces: 1,918 Minifigures: 6 Stickers: 10 Designer: ThatOneGuySteve Price: £129.99 / $149.99 / €149.99

With just six pieces different between the original and final Antique Shop designs, the differences are easier to spot. The truck’s wheel arches have been changed to a more current piece, and various furniture inside the shop has been changed to the likes of a globe as well as a lute.
An entirely new minifigure has been added as well, and more exposed studs are available on the ground floor to pose minifigures accordingly. The sticker in the window on the outside has been made taller, too.
910051 Mushroom Village
Pieces: 2,436 Minifigures: 7 Stickers: 0 Designer: JonasKramm Price: £189.99 / $209.99 / €209.99

JonasKramm’s Mushroom Village similarly has more than a few changes to spot, with nine more elements. Changes include the leaf bed adopting an autumnal colour scheme and the lid of the barrel in that room being removed. Similarly, the skirt sink is now a shell, and a sunflower motif decorates the floor instead of a brown circle.
The butterfly wings neck accessory has been amended to be fairy wings instead. Notably, the sign pointing to another of JonasKramm’s sets in this collection has been moved to the other side of the build.
910052 Popcorn Wagon
Pieces: 594 Minifigures: 3 Stickers: 3 Designer: Mictur Price: £49.99 / $59.99 / €57.99

The Popcorn Wagon from Mictur has similar changes to the antique shop, with more exposed studs to pose minifigures. There are 17 pieces different between the two versions.
There’s another new minifigure in the Popcorn Wagon now, as well as a black knob at the end of the wagon instead of the gold tube. The fence next to the lamp post is now slightly higher thanks to two black studs, as well.
910053 The Thieves of Tortuga
Pieces: 4,002 Minifigures: 13 Stickers: 7 Designer: Krackenator Price: £299.99 / $339.99 / €339.99

With just four pieces different between the two versions of Thieves of Tortuga, you’ll be surprised to see how many differences there are. Most notable is the removable bridge which now lets you create two ports or connect them into one bigger build. The water base has been changed accordingly to allow for this.
The paving has been changed to incorporate fewer one-stud circular tiles and more exposed studs. There’s even a sandcastle at the back of one of the houses now, too. The bridge’s square tiles have been changed to circular elements instead, as well.
