How the LEGO Super Mario power ups and bonus blocks work

A keen LEGO Super Mario player has listed all of the power ups and bonus blocks, confirming what they do and suggesting how they can be used.

One of the frustrating things about LEGO Super Mario is that not everything is clear about how the game or sets are intended to work. Some of these issues arise in the scannable blocks, which the app doesn’t really explain much about; Can they be scanned multiple times? What do I gain from them? What order should I use them in?

Thankfully, the Rambling Brick has produced a very useful guide that goes through every single scannable code that isn’t an enemy, explaining what they do, whether they can be scanned multiple times and suggestions of how they can be used in a layout.

For example, the POW! block can defeat any multi-scan enemy in one hit. The P blocks allows Mario to gather extra coins while walking. The 60 second timer can only be used once. For all of the worthwhile information and tips, check out the full feature.
