How to apply LEGO stickers and what tools you shouldn’t use

The art of applying LEGO stickers is as finicky as it is rewarding, most of the time, but with many techniques to pick from, one comes out on top.

LEGO sets have become increasingly reliant on stickers over printing the pieces before the set arrives to you, and none recently have been quite as reliant as 76295 The Avengers Helicarrier. Thankfully, this Marvel model and its plethora of stickers for the runway markings provide the perfect opportunity to try out a few different techniques for applying LEGO stickers and see which one is best.

LEGO Marvel 76295 The Avengers Helicarrier is available now with nearly 30 stickers to apply and thanks in no small part to its reliance on the two runways as part of its design, making sure that the markings are lined up as accurately can make or break the build when it’s on display.

From the official LEGO brick separator element to chopsticks, tune in to our new YouTube video to see what works and what (unsurprisingly) doesn’t for the Marvel build. Don’t fret, we do determine which way is best for applying LEGO stickers once we’ve tried every possible strategy – and we mean every strategy.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

Dude! Use Windex. Spray a little just to moisten – then spray the sticker. Stick it on move it into position, let dry. Done
