The latest LEGO Ideas set has been revealed as
From making the model modular as it was originally intended, to adding more plants and insects to the set here are some upgrades we've thought of for LEGO Ideas
Make it modular-compatible

A botanical garden in the middle of a bustling city or street isn't a common sight, but the LEGO Group does consider this build a part of the collection. Still, it seems likely that many enthusiasts will want to modify 21353 The Botanical Garden to fit the build into their city, as was originally pitched. This will mean that
Thankfully, by taking out the two flowerbeds at the front of the model, there's enough room for pavement and other typical modular features without affecting anything else in the natural build, including the decorative pavement design. Here's the parts list required based on our suggested design, which keeps the unique decorated pavement from the set intact.
We've opted to not introduce any Technic pin connection points to allow the set room to breathe as the designer originally intended. You could integrate such connection points via some bushes, though it would restrict access to the back of the building by minifigures without walking through the indoor garden.

Fill the planters

Aside from the addition of the modular street that was originally proposed for the LEGO Ideas set, the uniform design of the planets in the interior means some empty space and exposed soil. Thankfully, filling these gaps is easy with Pick a Brick.
Here are some interesting plant and plant-adjacent elements you can use to upgrade LEGO Ideas 21353 The Botanical Garden's floral offerings, as much as some elements may not be quite to scale with minifigures.

Add some more insects

While you're unlikely to see the likes of a squirrel in a botanical garden (though some birds have managed to find their way into the LEGO Ideas set), insects are much more common in our experience and Pick a Brick has some interesting varieties to consider. The set officially includes just one beetle but there are many others on Pick a Brick to bolster the building.
There's a wide selection of butterflies on the service too using the more recent element, which could be paired with transparent elements to great effect as they are in
