It’s the official release date for the new collaboration bettween IKEA and the LEGO Group – a range of storage boxes named BYGGLEK.

IKEA and the LEGO Group launch BYGGLEK today. The new storage box range has already turned up at a branch of the furniture giant in Germany. It has taken two years of collaboration for the companies to develop and release these storage boxes, which feature studs on the top to allow for play and customisation.

There are four products that will be available; a pack of three small boxes, two packs of bigger boxes and an exclusive LEGO set.

Here is the pricing for UK stores:

“BYGGLEK is more than boxes. It is storage and play intertwined,” said LEGO Designer Rasmus Buch Løgstrup when the products were announced. “BYGGLEK provides families with a product range that helps create space for more play in their everyday – fuelling creativity, making it possible to have more fun together. It’s a possibility to play, display the cool creations and return to it to replay, remake, recreate or start over. BYGGLEK is all about endless possibilities, just like the LEGO System in Play.”
