Indiana Jones movies and TV show arriving on Disney+ this month

Disney+ is adding all four Indiana Jones movies to its line-up this month, as well as a little-seen live-action TV show starring the character.

It looks like being a huge year for fans of Harrison Ford’s iconic archaeologist adventurer, with the highly-anticipated Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny due to arrive on big screens from June 28. In addition, three LEGO Indiana Jones sets were launched on April 1, in the shape of 77012 Fighter Plane Chase77013 Escape from the Lost Tomb and 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol.

Now Lucasfilm has announced that all four of the original Indiana Jones films will be coming to Disney+ this month, alongside every episode of the little-seen Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. It’s been revealed that Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will be arriving on the streaming platform on May 31.

The quartet of movies will be joined by the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, a two-season series and four made-for-TV films that were first released in 1992. The show featured Indy as a boy, a teenager and a much-older version of the character, with one episode even including a guest appearance by Harrison Ford himself.

The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles was created by George Lucas as a spin-off from the main movies and was intended to not only explain more about Henry Jones Jr.’s origins, but also present an educational program for kids and teens based around real-world historical events. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled in 1983, with its upcoming arrival on Disney+ being the first time that many Indiana Jones fans will have been able to watch the series.

The LEGO Group has yet to announce if any additional sets based around the existing Indiana Jones franchise will be released at some point or even if models inspired by the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny are in development.
