It's a good thing LEGO has been building up Ghost Rider

The LEGO Group's efforts to get more familiar with Ghost Rider and make a new piece for him are about to pay off in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

San Diego Comic-Con is coming to an end for another year, with one of the last major panels at the event being for Marvel Studios. The panel took place in the early hours this morning, with a couple of big announcements, but not as many as usual.

These announcements included a third Black Panther movie and new casting for T'Challa II, as well as word of Ghost Rider's debut in the MCU (apparently Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't count). That latter reveal is fantastic news for the LEGO Group.

Despite the vast number of comic characters yet to be included in LEGO Marvel sets, the LEGO Group has consistently been including Ghost Rider in all manner of sets, including as recently as this year. 76335 Spider-Man vs. Ghost Rider Motorcycle is available now, including a new minifigure of the character, but it looks like we can expect more in 2028.

Ghost Rider's MCU movie is coming in 2028, and we know that the LEGO Group is more than willing to include the character in non-18+ sets. It seems likely that the LEGO Group will have something for the movie, though this is not confirmed.

The LEGO Group's efforts to expand their Ghost Rider offerings, including with a new flaming minifigure head piece and hand accessories in recent years, are likely about to pay off.

To make things even better, Ghost Rider's MCU casting is none other than Ryan Gosling, who has recently made his minifigure debut in 11389 Project Hail Mary. That minifigure has glasses and depicts a character with a different personality than Ghost Rider is likely to have, but at least there's a foundation to work from.

It's also worth noting that Gosling is joining Star Wars soon as part of the new Starfighter movie, which is rumoured to receive three sets. Also note that both the new Ghost Rider and Starfighter are being directed by Shawn Levy. Come 2028, there could well be three Ryan Gosling minifigures on shelves.

Both previous Black Panther movies have received multiple LEGO Marvel sets, so that third film seems likely to receive some representation in the theme in 2028, too. That's only speculation on our part, though.
