John Lewis slashes price of 10298 Vespa 125 in new LEGO sale

John Lewis’s latest LEGO Icons sale offers the chance to build your own slice of Italian life with a deep discount on 10298 Vespa 125.

The pastel blue LEGO Vespa raced on to shelves in 2022, inspired by the classic 1960s Vespa Piaggio. It normally retails for £89.99 in the UK, but retailer John Lewis has slashed the price by 20% in its latest LEGO sale, bringing it down to just £71.99. That’s a cracking deal for this detailed recreation of the Italian icon, which is packed with authentic touches.

Decked out in one of the vehicle’s original production colours – and a comparatively rare colour for LEGO bricks – 10298 Vespa 125 absolutely looks the part on a shelf. And it’s also ripe for modding, in the spirit of the ‘mod’ subculture that claimed it as a symbol of freedom and imagination in the 1960s.

Even if you only build it as it comes, though, you’ll still find details like the Vespa logo, a brick-built engine, working steering and a classic ‘60s Italian licence plate, along with accessories including a helmet and basket with flower bouquet. The overall package paints a loving picture of riding through quaint Italian streets, and should speak to anyone who’s ever ridden a real-life Vespa.

Coming in at 22cm tall, 35cm long and 12cm wide, it’s also much bigger than you might first expect, but still stands strong thanks to its functioning kickstand. There’s a lot to love in what’s already one of the more affordable LEGO Icons vehicles, made even better value in John Lewis’s latest sale.

Click through to John Lewis to buy 10298 Vespa 125 for just £71.99.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
