Mercedes F1 driver Kimi Antonelli shows his team pride in Drive to Survive using LEGO
A quick shot in Netflix’s Drive to Survive proves Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s loyalty to Mercedes Petronas AMG through a retired LEGO set.
Drive to Survive audiences were introduced to Kimi Antonelli for the first time in episode three, titled ‘Looking Out For Number One’. It follows Mercedes Team Principal making a decision on who to welcome to his driver line-up in the absence of Lewis Hamilton – and landing on rookie Antonelli.
Just 18 years old, Antonelli has already raced in Formula 2 and has been a member of the Mercedes Junior Team since 2019. Now, he’s going straight into Formula 1 in 2025, after making his free practice debut in Formula One at the 2024 Italian Grand Prix. His long-time relationship with Mercedes is part of why Toto is bringing him into the team – and there’s evidence of his loyalty to the team on his shelves.

A brief shot shows off one half of LEGO Speed Champions 76909 Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance & Mercedes-AMG Project One, a set that retired at the end of 2024. Paired with various other motorsports memorabilia, it highlights Antonelli’s Mercedes association – as well as demonstrates that all the highest achievers in their fields build LEGO sets, of course.
Considering you can also spot pictures and model cars related to Ayrton Senna, if Antonelli is looking for more recommendations of what LEGO set to build next, LEGO Icons 10330 McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna might be a nice addition to the shelf. Of course, it might also be time to update the LEGO Speed Champions representation to 2024 with 77244 Mercedes-AMG F1 W15. That’s if he has any time to build LEGO while getting to grips with a new Formula 1 car.
