Largest LEGO store in Germany to open later this year

The LEGO Group’s German division has revealed the financial results for 2021, including plans for the largest store in the region by the end of 2022.

The German subsidiary of the LEGO Group, known as LEGO GmbH, revealed in a press release that the financial year of 2021 has been seen as a success for the company, with consumer sales increasing by over 7%.

As part of the announcement, which details that the LEGO Group was named as the best brand of the year for the fourth year in a row, plans were revealed to open another LEGO store in Germany before the end of 2022.

However, the press release notes that this will be the largest in the region to date and be located in downtown Munich. Germany already features a flagship location in Berlin with custom models on display alongside the standard array of sets, so you can expect this new store to be even bigger.

“Our fans – whether big or small – want to experience the unique LEGO brand world with all their senses,” says Karen Pascha-Gladyshev, Managing Director of LEGO GmbH “They want unforgettable experiences inspired by our LEGO bricks in creative and fun ways. That’s why we are particularly pleased to be opening a flagship store at our company location in Munich and the largest LEGO store in Germany to date.”

The new flagship location is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2022, with a Barcelona location also recently opening.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
