Last chance to build your hobby for future LEGO Ideas GWP

Time is running out to be in with a chance of designing a future LEGO Ideas gift-with-purchase, based on hobbies from LEGO building to parasailing.

The entry intake phase for the LEGO Ideas Build Your Hobby challenge is going to close in a few days on July 30, giving you little time to design and submit a model based on your favourite hobby. The grand prize for this challenge includes the opportunity to help transform your build into an official gift-with-purchase, similar to 40788 Friendly Snails.

The only restrictions are that it needs to be between 200 and 250 elements and shouldn’t feature any logos or third-party IP. There are 323 submissions in the challenge so far, of which only up to 15 will be moving forward to the fan vote on August 11. The results will then be announced by September 3.

The submissions are varied in terms of the hobbies covered, featuring sports, gaming, reading, photography and even LEGO studios. The grand prize winner will not only see their design become a future gift-with-purchase but will also take home seven sets.

You’ve got until July 30 to submit your entry, but we’d recommend submitting by July 28 to ensure that you have time to resubmit if your build is not approved for entry for any reason. Head to the challenge page to find out more about the rules and entry process.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
