Last chance: Guaranteed March 1 delivery on unreleased LEGO sets

Want to make sure the new March 2024 LEGO sets turn up at your door on release day? Now’s your last chance to pre-order with guaranteed day one delivery.

Pre-ordering new LEGO sets from LEGO.com has its benefits – Insiders points, for example – but also means playing the waiting game, as the LEGO Group doesn’t start shipping sets until the day of release. Standard delivery typically takes two to four business days, and given March 1 falls on a Friday this year, you’ll likely be waiting until at least the middle of next week for your new goodies to arrive.

If you’re anxious to start building sooner – maybe you’ve set the weekend aside to get stuck into new LEGO Star Wars, Disney and Harry Potter sets – you can still pre-order from John Lewis for guaranteed March 1 delivery. A total of five different LEGO sets from across the LEGO Group’s licensed themes are currently available to pre-order from John Lewis. Check them out below.

Named day delivery from John Lewis usually costs £7.50, but is currently free on LEGO pre-orders. Simply add your chosen sets to your basket and select ‘March 1’ at checkout for delivery tomorrow. You can also choose Saturday or Sunday if you’re not at home to take delivery on Friday. This offer is only available on pre-orders, though: you’ll have to pay for named delivery if you buy tomorrow.

While this is only a small sample of the 50+ LEGO sets due for release on March 1, it does include some of the highlights for adult fans – such as two of the new midi-scale LEGO Star Wars Starship Collection sets, LEGO Disney’s latest buildable character, a brand new large-scale R2-D2 and the return of the sound brick in 76429 Talking Sorting Hat.

75387 Boarding the Tantive IV was also available to pre-order at John Lewis for a while, but the website states that pre-orders have now sold out (and the LEGO Star Wars 25th-anniversary set will instead be available to buy from release day). The same could theoretically happen to any of the other five sets still available to pre-order with free named day delivery, so don’t delay if you’ve got your eye on them.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
