Latest LEGO Ideas design belongs in the Botanical Collection

The latest fan-made LEGO Ideas design would be more at home in the ever-growing LEGO Icons Botanical Collection.

Designed by prolific fan designer Bricky_Brick, the mind behind several 10K designs including the currently-in-review City Burger, Venus Flytrap is the third set to make it into the first LEGO Ideas review of 2024. It certainly looks the part, from its deceptively pretty white petals to the bright red and green mouth.

In a fun cartoon play on the real-life plant, the mouth itself has googly eyes, keeping an eye out for unsuspecting prey – including a poor spider that you can see wandering closer to the right of the main build.

The fan-designed set also comes complete with its own plaque, detailing the name of the plant and making the entire build ready for display. Of course, it might not be possible to get your hands on the set anytime soon; it still needs to go up against the other sets that will make it into the first review of this year. While there are only three for now, there are sure to be many more on the way as the months progress.
