Latest LEGO Island in Fortnite includes unexpected reference
A new official LEGO Island is now available to play within Fortnite and its trailer includes an unexpected Easter egg to a notable LEGO game project.
LEGO Wing Walkers has been released in Fortnite as the latest official LEGO Island created by the LEGO Group. You can take a closer look at the LEGO Island by clicking here or by inputting the code 9144-2183-1933 in-game now.
The trailer for the new LEGO Island may be more interesting for longtime enthusiasts though as you may want to listen closely to the soundtrack.
The trailer’s music is a modified version of the main theme for LEGO Universe. The retired LEGO massively multiplayer online game ran from October 2010 to January 2012 but it would appear that the LEGO Group hasn’t forgotten the title, bringing it back in a small way via this trailer.
LEGO Universe being referenced through Fortnite is fitting as it is a similarly massive multiplayer online game, though Fortnite has been operating for seven years in comparison.
It’s also worth noting that those with the Epic Games launcher on PC can redeem a free back bling and wrap until June 13 to use in-game. Neither is compatible with LEGO Fortnite or LEGO Islands, but it may be worth grabbing them anyway to use in Fortnite’s other modes.
