Sven Franic helms this latest recording, with plenty of comparisons drawn to the real-life camper van, on an actual beach no less. The presence of a Volkswagen T2 Camper Van alongside the set helps to showcase the finer details dotted throughout the construction.
Sven points out that one of the more challenging phases of the build came from the steering function, with the interior wheel not having any sway over the feature at all. In fact, any and all steering is operated by the spare tyre on the front of the van. This is explained to be a direct reference to a LEGO Model Team set.
“There is just so much positivity behind the huge community behind the aircool Volkswagens and are always there to enhance on the road and I wanted other people to have a piece of that.” commented the LEGO designer on his inspiration for the set.
The LEGO for Adults 10279 Volkswagen T2 Camper Van is available now worldwide for £149.99 / $179.99 / €159.99 and we’ve got an in-depth review to take you on another road trip for this nostalgic model.
